Meet Wiley At CG Recruitment, we know that People Power Australia’s Future. It’s the labourers, the pickers and packers and the drivers who keep our country moving and growing. Without these essential people, we as a nation grind to a halt. Our client, Wiley Raymond (21), is one of these critical contributors to our economy. He’s been with us for three years – ever since he graduated high school. Wiley has big plans for the future, and his partnership with CG Recruitment allows him to meet both his short-term and long-term objectives. Achieving Wiley’s goals A friend recommended CG Recruitment to Wiley in 2018, when he was looking for a consistent, full-time role. While Wiley didn’t have much work experience, we noticed that he had a fantastic attitude and a definite willingness to learn. After applying for his preferred roles on our website, Wiley’s CG Recruitment partner, Andrew, got in touch within two short days to organise an interview. According to Wiley, “CG was easy to talk to and very helpful in getting me on board. It was a half-hour interview, and then I started almost straight away.” Although Wiley soon started his university degree in business and economics, he has continued with CG Recruitment on a casual basis. As his employment partner, we’ve been happy to work around Wiley’s schedule and pair him with the right companies to grow his skills. Throughout our entire relationship, Wiley has clearly expressed a preference for both flexibility and variety in his jobs, which we’ve always done our best to fulfil. “I try to dedicate 3 days per week to uni work, and CG is incredibly flexible week-to-week depending on my needs”, he notes. Our ongoing partnership with Wiley At CG Recruitment, we aren’t “middlemen”. You get to know the people who you work with every week. Since he began with us three years ago, Wiley has become like one of our own team members. Because he likes to take on different types of jobs, we’re in contact with Wiley each week. Our team discuss with him what kinds of roles he’s interested in and those that he isn’t. He lets us know his availability and we keep him up to date with new opportunities. “I’ve done everything from mould removal, through to manufacturing, picking and packing, doing deliveries, and unloading containers. I love learning and getting experience in all sorts of different places”, he says. Although Wiley will complete his economics degree in two years, we’ll still be by his side as he looks for internship opportunities – giving him security while he takes those important next steps in his career. In fact, we found some opportunities for him along the way in the business and finance space, to help build his confidence in the industry. Wiley’s positive experience with our employers is a testament to our commitment to partnering with those who respect our recruits and provide a great work environment. Wiley notes, “The businesses that CG Recruitment has placed me within are all very inclusive. I’ve even made friends with several of the other CG recruits I work with.” Are you ready to take on your next challenge and contribute to building a better Australia? Explore casual work , like Wiley, or get in touch with CG Recruitment for full-time opportunities.

After a long day in an ISO surveillance audit mode, we are pleased to advise we are on the right track and have the right systems & procedures in place to maintain our 9001 Quality & 45001 safety compliances. We are proud of the way our systems have evolved since conception to ensure we are meeting our requirements. What are these certifications? Well, ISO 9001 is defined asthe international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system (QMS). Organizations use the standard to demonstrate the ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. ISO 45001 specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system, and gives guidance for its use, to enable organizations to provide safe and healthy workplaces by preventing work-related injury and ill health, as well as by proactively improving its OH&S performance. It's applicable to any organization that wishes to establish, implement and maintain an OH&S management system to improve occupational health and safety, eliminate hazards and minimize OH&S risks (including system deficiencies), take advantage of OH&S opportunities, and address OH&S management system nonconformities associated with its activities. We're extremely happy to maintain our certifications!

Congratulations and thanks go to our Managing Director Ali, who took part in Dry July this year. With a commitment from CG Recruitment to match his funds raised, we were successful is contributing $2,357.40 to his Dry July fundraising! The funds raised through Dry July will provide invaluable services to cancer patients, their families and carers – whether it’s a lift to a life-saving appointment, guidance from a specialist nurse, connection to an informative voice, access to therapy programs or a bed close to treatment. Ali said it was a rushed decision which in he didn’t think through very well. As a keen participator in social drinking, he struggled through a mate’s buck’s night and several birthdays without his usual alcoholic beverage (or 10). Let’s not forget the kids school holidays and COVID lock downs. He committed to raising $1,000 for this great cause and is super proud to have smashed his target. Well done, Ali. Very deserving of your next bottle of red!

Did you know that work-related hand and wrist injuries are one of the most common work-related injury type. Injuries range from being relatively minor to very severe, most commonly involving the fingers in the form of open wounds and in some cases even amputation. The manufacturing, wholesale & retail and construction industries sustain hand and wrist injuries in the course of work most commonly. This is probably due to the tasks being undertaken and the equipment being used which has the potential to exert large forces directly or indirectly to the hand and wrist. How to Prevent these Types of Injuries? There are three primary steps in preventing injuries that will help in any workplace: PPE, awareness, and training. Most hand injuries are the result of not wearing gloves or wearing the wrong gloves for the job. Make sure you have access to quality gloves that fit well and are right for the task. Awareness requires a two-pronged approach: YOU need to be aware of potential risks and how to avoid them. Additionally, you need to stay aware of your surroundings and how you’re moving through them. Common causes of workplace injuries are distraction, fatigue, or not paying attention. Always be aware of where you put your hands and the potential risks in the environment. Eliminate distractions or hazards like clutter. PRACTICE BETTER HAND HEALTH Prevention is as much about avoiding injury as it is also about improving wellness. Hand, finger, and wrist stretches will reduce stiffness and improve dexterity.

Ron is a natural born joker and oftentimes nicknames himself ‘Superman’. Though a comedian, Ron has always been there to get the job done no matter what it is. He has always been flexible in his duties and is a motivator for those that work with him. Ron is a valuable asset to the CG Team and our clients. Here at CG Recruitment we like to think that we provide our clients with a tailored and dedicated solution for their staffing needs but we’ve been blown away by some of the recent response from our Client Satisfaction Survey that we recently sent out to our wonderful clients. “Good service, reliable, always available. If staff don't turn up they are always chasing down a replacement as soon as possible. Always polite and willing to go above and beyond. Always enjoy calling even if it's just for a chat.” “The response time is great. The staff are polite and really helpful. CG just knows how to provide. I have had to fill permanent positions even after the start of the shift and CG has never let me down. Their personalized service is second to none. As far as we are concerned they are part of our family.” A big THANK YOU for this wonderful feedback. It’s nice to know you value our service as much as we value providing it to you.

The CG Family is proud to announce another accolade that we have accumulated this week - we have been awarded our Staffsure certification. StaffSure is a certification scheme which makes it simple for business, government and workers to find and partner with reputable Workforce Service Providers such as labour hire companies, professional contracting firms and private employment agencies. Through independent auditing against an industry-specific standard, StaffSure provides confidence and integrity to the workforce services market in Australia and New Zealand. The StaffSure Standard, and certification program, was developed by RCSA, the peak body for the recruitment and staffing industry in Australia and New Zealand, in response to calls from business and government for a simple yet effective solution to the exploitation of workers by ‘labour hire’ providers in the fresh produce industry. RCSA, as the peak body, knew that the problem of poor business practice was wider than traditional ‘labour hire’ and that a scheme was needed to validate all forms of workforce services. StaffSure was developed to help operators prove their business integrity whether they are labour hire businesses in the horticulture industry, professional contracting firms supplying government or payroll agencies engaging contractors for the banking & finance sector. In developing StaffSure, RCSA worked in consultation with industries that use Workforce Service Providers, governments that regulate them, unions that employ workers within them and certification experts with global experience. StaffSure addresses the key business integrity and risk elements within contemporary workforce services, based on market intelligence and knowledge that only the industry has. Workforce Service Providers are businesses, in all forms, that source, assign and manage employees and contractors for business and government. They may hire and assign workers to work directly for clients or they may manage their own workers to deliver the services as a contractor. Workforce Services Providers include labour hire providers, contracting firms, employment agencies, payroll agencies and recruitment firms. The CG Team are extremely proud to receive this certification and can now assure our clients and employees that we're doing everything right!
