We are seeking skilled Desktop Support Engineer's to join our IT team at Sydney Airport. This role is essential in ensuring our company’s computers and software run smoothly, securely, and in line with compliance standards.

About the Role

As a Desktop Support Engineer, you will provide Level 2/3 support, handling technical issues beyond the scope of the standard IT helpdesk. You’ll maintain and manage our Standard Operating Environment (SOE) to deliver a consistent, secure, and reliable experience for all staff.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and updating systems through MECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager).
  • Packaging, testing, and deploying new software across the business.
  • Installing and managing monthly security patches to safeguard against cyber threats.
  • Ensuring systems comply with the Essential 8 Maturity Model framework.
  • Supporting the broader IT team with escalations and busy periods.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  •  A Bachelor’s degree in IT or a Certificate/Diploma in a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar desktop engineering role.
  • Strong skills in MECM (Configuration Manager), Windows OS, Office 365, and Group Policy management.
  • Experience with application packaging, deployment, and endpoint protection (Defender for Endpoint).
  • Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, particularly the Essential 8.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and client-facing communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Service Desk, Cybersecurity, and multi-supplier environments.
